How to Build a 30-Card 7 Stones Deck: A Practical Framework
A pre-launch-safe framework for turning a Stone, a win condition, and 30 card slots into a deck you can test, diagnose, and improve.

A good 30-card 7 Stones deck needs a clear route to victory. Start with that plan, choose the Stone that supports it, use Generic cards to cover specific jobs, and make sure your costs work with the Energy choices you expect to make. Then test one problem at a time instead of searching for a universal card ratio.
Know the rules that shape your deck
The current rules say a player chooses one Stone and builds a 30-card deck from that Stone's cards plus Generic neutrals. At the start of each turn, the player chooses 1 Stone Energy or 2 Generic Energy. Stone can pay Stone or Generic costs. Generic can pay only Generic costs.1
That makes resource planning part of deck construction. A card may fit the theme and still create a bad sequence if its Stone requirement conflicts with the Energy choices needed by the rest of the hand.

The public page also lists copy limits: two copies each for Common, Rare, and Epic cards, and one each for Legendary and Mythic cards.1 Those are maximums, not recommended counts.
Build the deck in nine steps
Do not begin by filling all 30 slots. Write a short answer for each step first.

This framework does not assign fixed percentages. The full card pool, Hero abilities, final rules, and observed metagame are not public enough to support a solved list.
1. Write the win condition first
A win condition is the route from an ordinary opening hand to a rule-supported victory. It is not simply the rarest or most expensive card in the list.
This deck uses [repeatable advantage] to create [decisive game state], then converts that position into lethal damage or another supported victory route.
A pressure deck may establish attackers before an opponent stabilizes. A control deck may exchange resources, protect its Hero, and finish after securing the Field. A combo deck may assemble a particular sequence. These are planning patterns, not claims that one archetype is best.
Test your sentence. What must appear early? Which piece can be interrupted? How does the deck finish once it is ahead? If the answer requires several unrelated conditions, narrow the plan.
2. Choose a Stone for what it does
The official About page currently describes the seven Stones this way: HEAVEN control, NEBULA combo, AETHER recursion, NATURE ramp, TIME tempo, HELL aggro, and ABYSS reanimation.3

These are publisher descriptions, not rankings or finalized deck lists. Use them to find a starting point, then make decisions from revealed card text.
3. Give every Generic card a job
Generic cards are not spare slots. Their costs interact differently with the Energy System, so every inclusion affects both the deck's function and its resource plan.1
Open the official card catalogue and name the need before choosing a card. That need might be early development, interaction, card access, protection, recovery, or a backup play.

4. Map costs to Energy choices
Record which early plays require Stone Energy, where 2 Generic Energy improves the sequence, and which hand states could strand a card. Total cost alone is not enough.
The public guide says each faction Hero has a unique 1-cost ability that can be used each turn, while full Hero ability reveals are still forthcoming.1 Do not assume an unrevealed ability will solve a gap in the deck.
For sample hands, write the first few preferred Energy choices and the alternatives when the intended card is missing. This exposes lists that look affordable in total but ask for conflicting resource types. The Energy System guide explains the choice in more detail.
5. Assign a role to every slot
Label each card by one primary role. Add a secondary role only when the revealed text supports it.

Sort the list by role, not rarity. Missing closers, duplicated narrow effects, and unsupported payoffs become easier to see.
6. Test situations, not imagined matchups
Current rules describe minion combat, spells, Hero abilities, and an interactive Discard Pile. Published keywords include GUARD, FREEZE, VEIL, HALO, DEPLOY, REVENGE, REMEMBER, and DIG.1
Using the live How to Play guide, test whether the deck can function when an opponent develops an early Field, GUARD blocks the Hero, VEIL prevents targeting, a key card reaches the Discard Pile, or the main setup piece is not drawn.
You do not need an answer to everything. You do need to know which situations the deck gives up and whether those weaknesses are acceptable.
7. Add resilience without building a second deck
Resilience means the deck can still make useful decisions after its preferred line is interrupted. It may come from flexible cards, overlapping functions, recovery, or a secondary route that shares pieces with the main plan.
Try three failure tests: remove the main enabler from a sample hand, assume the first major threat is answered, and assume one Energy choice does not support the next draw. If all three leave no useful line, improve shared-role coverage before adding a separate strategy.
8. Test decisions, not only wins
For each game, record the deck version, opening keeps, important Energy choices, first turning point, stranded cards, decisive interaction, and why the game ended.

Test both starting positions when access allows. The first player currently does not draw on turn one. The second player draws and starts with The Crystal, a 0-cost spell that provides 2 temporary Energy.1
9. Revise from a diagnosis
Change a card only after naming the problem it should solve. Adjust one card or one connected package, then repeat the same test. Large batches of changes make it hard to learn what worked.

Each version note should state what changed, which observed problem justified it, and what result would count as improvement. Reverting a change is useful evidence too.

Common questions
Is there an ideal Stone-to-Generic ratio?
No verified universal ratio is public. Start with the Stone requirements of the win condition. Add Generic cards for named jobs, then test whether their costs support the intended sequence.
Should I always use the maximum number of a key card?
No. Copy limits are legality ceilings, not ideal counts.1 More copies may improve access while reducing flexibility or creating unwanted duplicates.
How can I prepare before every card is revealed?
Build a worksheet rather than a definitive list. Record the win condition, Stone rationale, card roles, desired Energy sequence, and situations the deck cannot yet answer. Add only cards visible in the official catalogue.2
